An Invitation for You
Last night, I gathered a small group of friends to form the first-ever Bend Reality community cohort. It was a resounding success.
Now, I’d like to invite fifteen of the readers of this newsletter to form a similar cohort. Let me explain what you should expect.
The purpose of Bend Reality is to help each of us lead such an expansive life that miracles start to happen.
Since your environment always wins, to be more expansive you must surround yourself with expansive people. That’s the whole goal of this new program: to help you surround yourself with more expansive people.
Our new cohort will meet once a month for 75 minutes each session. The only goal of each gathering is to help us calibrate the right balance in our lives between expansion and contraction.
In my experience, it’s tricky to get the balance right, because our definition of “expansive” shifts as we grow. To offer a simple example, let’s say you decide to write a book. For the next year, you stretch your comfort zone and surmount numerous obstacles, in what absolutely qualifies as expansive behavior. Your book comes out to a decent amount of critical acclaim. You get excited, which is normal, but eventually this causes you to promote promote promote the book. That is contractive behavior.
In a similar manner, it might be expansive behavior to move past your fears and expand your business, until one day you realize your most important personal relationships are suffering. At this point, it might be expansive behavior to refocus on your relationships.
Most of us, myself included, lack the self-awareness to properly calibrate our expansion efforts without a healthy dose of peer support.
Our beta session last night quickly turned into a powerful conversation. We shared our personal experiences, asked questions of each other, and were eager to be supportive.
Does this sound appealing?
With this note, I’m inviting you to join a new cohort, which will meet once a month. I have no idea whether three or 300 of you will respond, but my plan is to keep the first group at 15 or fewer people. If I get more response than that, I’ll look into launching a second cohort.
Q.) Is this right for me?
The ideal participants…
are highly motivated to lead the most expansive life possible
want to form deep connections with other expansive people
are givers, not takers
Please RSVP by emailing me directly (bkasanoff@gmail.com). When replying, please include a few lines that explain why this sounds interesting to you. I am also happy to answer any questions you may have.
