I love this and will be taking my own brief digital detox while I am on vacation. I really liked the perspective of reviewing a summary of 'what has happened' vs the speculation as to 'what might happen'. Enjoy today's sunset!

I think this is a fantastic decision..you mentioned "the obligation to be informed" regardless of what the past is or how good the analysis is the future is unknown..so being informed about it is a non-starter. I might guess right and think wow I have really got this future thing figured out...setting myself up to get knocked right on my....
Bravo! Digital Minimalism is a great book. I "cut the cord" (deactivated several accounts including FB and IG) last year and occasionally I miss things, but I ask family members to fill me in. I have an old iPhone with news apps and that helped too. I still catch myself looking at my phone when bored, and remember "oh, I'm bored" and go do something meaningful. :-)
