Perhaps the toughest task of all to ask of most people is to stop trying. We are taught to have grit, goals and a sense of purpose. Aim high. Dream big.
But when we allow this approach to take up all the oxygen in our lives, we risk blinding ourselves to greater truths.
Some of our most expansive and perceptive abilities originate in a space in which there are no words, thoughts or effort. For example, you can’t “try” to have a flash of insight or a message from God (or Source or whatever word you use to describe a higher level of universal intelligence).
I am finding that it’s helpful to carve out time during the week to step out of the fray and abandon words, thought and effort. Without expectation. With no goal in mind.
It’s “hard” in the same way that learning to ride a bike is difficult, until it isn’t.
That’s it for this week, and please don’t think about this.
It’s like....empty your mind
