I could continue in my industry, but I have a vision of being an author and publisher. To be realistic, I can’t do both at the same time. Yet it’s important to start the other runway before leaving. I’ve done that... started... a little more running (with wings spread in belief of the vision) on the runway and I’ll be flying, even if at first the flying is like a baby bird’s.

Many thanks for being the first to comment, John. I'm truly grateful. The purpose of this exercise isn't to be realistic or even to create a plan to get where you want to go; it is to envision what BEING THERE will feel like. What will it be like to work as a publisher and author? What will you publish?

I believe in you, John!! You can be both. I’m attempting something very similar and yes, it’s been like a baby bird struggling to take flight haha. But we’re flying either way!

My vision is to leave people in a better state than I found them, either through my interactions or assistance. This could be in a work environment providing service or resources, at home in trying to teach how to be a better human, or in other areas of my existence.

Another focus is to be content with what we have instead of striving for what others seem to need in life, most of which is material and truly irrelevant to their happiness. We can be happy with what we have as opposed to seeking happiness through having more.

The path to happiness is happiness. It's a true statement, but is hard to fully accept.

I made a bold move 7 years ago by applying and getting a better job, better pay moving to a beautiful part of Canada called Muskoka. No more 2 hour commute every day and living in an active healthy community. First time I put myself first and really dreaming big and it payed off in so many ways. Now I need to vision what the next 10 years will look like. This post is opening up some thoughts. Travel is a part of that. I have lots to dream about thank you!!

Having an enthusiastic idea for something new and perhaps useful I know is not enough. Knowing how to present the idea and to whom you are going to present it and why you are presenting and what you expect to receive is more important than the enthusiasm for the idea.

Bruce what an encouraging post. I would really like to spend 3 months out of every year traveling both domestically and internationally with my family. Within 5 years.

It's getting easier and easier as I age and experience struggles and hardship. It takes adversity to appreciate normalcy.

My life vision is to survive the coming crisis! I have seen it happen three times and got beat up once. But I am a survivor and will continue to survive no matter what life throws at me. A few years ago, I wanted to write, now I am an author, and will continue even if no one reads by books or if a million does. My motto in life is Do the Right Thing because it is Right!

Hi, Brenda, and many thanks for sharing. I can't help but mention that your expansive live vision is solely based on bad things that have happened in the past... do you really want nothing more than to wait for the next bad thing and survive that?

Great post Bruce. The bold moves I'm interested in are the ones that likely bring me joy even if they go unnoticed by others. Less resume building, more satisfaction. Onward.

Help them with day-to-day activities, as well as showing them more about mindfulness. Little bit of background: I came to the states about 25 years ago and have been visiting them here and there. Last month I spent a whole month with them and realize they need a lot of help and also, letting go of worries and enjoying their life.

Great subject! I’d say my expansive vision would include improving the lives of myself and others, adding to society, feeling proud of what I’ve accomplished, and striving to create a lasting legacy.

Welcome, Winston! This is a great start. Now, can you envision a specific way you will improve the lives of others? The more details you add, the more compelling it will be to your brain (and soul).

I can help by promoting others’ work that I enjoy reading and sharing knowledge about the publishing industry. Connecting like-minded readers with authors and authors with publishers. Thanks for helping expand these ideas!
